I have a designjet 5500 that we've had for a little over a year. I run predominately 18" x 24" posters on 24" wide media (HP Super Heavyweight Matte or HP Instant dry gloss photo)--about 10,000 or so annually. We almost immediately started having problems with the HP Instant Dry Gloss not feeding well in the machine (misfeeds at load, leaving long lead edges on sheets). I need to have the 42" wide machine for occassional larger posters and scrim.
I'm debating upgrading to what I believe they will be calling the Z6100, although I can't find much information about it online. I need to know if the other "Z" series machines feed the glossy stocks well, especially in the narrow rolls. Does anyone know anything about the "Z6100" or other issues I should be aware of in the new "Z" series?
