Hi Rotexy,

This error basically means that your printer has shutdown due to an issue on
the scan-axis. This is the direction of the carriage. So standing in front of
the printer, the movement of the carriage from right to left and back.
Basically, it means that the printer could not determine its own width. This is
always done when you turn the printer ON.

What you need to do is check where the carriage has stopped, when you turn the
printer ON. It could stop at two positions, on the right-hand side of the
printer or in the middle.

If on the right, when you open the main top cover and look to the right, you
will see, or should see a filter hanging downwards from the left side of the
right cover.. See if this filter has come loose and so stopping the carriage
from going back to the service station on the right. So what happens is that
the carriage might stop halfway between the printzone and going under the right
cover. From what you say, that the printer will only book when the entire
casing is removed, I think this is what is happening.

There is the other case where the carriage stops halfway the printzone, but in
your case, I don't think that happens because you say the printer will boot
when the covers are removed.

Hope this helps.
Cheers
T

Subject: [HPDesignJet_Printers] My Designjet 130 Gives Error 86:11 After
Servicing how Do Stop it.

            Hello,

Please kindly help with this error. I live in Lagos Nigeria so

every year during the Hamatan Season every where is covered with a

layer of find dust blown all the way from the Sahara Desert. So

every year a computer engineer comes arround to service and blow out

all the dust from all my computers and printers.

Unfortunately after coupling back My DesignJet 130 it started giving

Error 86:11 and wont initialise beyond this point. After searching

HP website I finally got the defination of the Error. It refers me

to check and ensure that the inner cover of the printheads is closed

and to also ensure that the cover of the ink catridges is well

closed.

I have checked this HP suggested solutions over a dosen times and

the Error is still persistent, the printer only boot to the ready

mode when the entire printer casing is removed.

Has any body ever experienced this before and what did you do to

rectify the porblem.

Desperately waiting for a solution

Rotexy
