i dont know the fix but have a work around.

I have the same problem.

canon prints lighter, the hp prints darker.  I had to compensate by 
changing the brightness from 0 to 2 under printer properties/printing 
preferences/color/advanced color setting.  This gets it close to what 
you see on the screen.
