Hi Justin, Well, most of the time, when I come across colors which are off, especially for certain medias, then I tend to look first to the workflow and also the profiles used. It could be that the profile used is not the correct one or some other color management setting. The Posterjet media profiles are all very good.
You save your files with the Adobe RGB profile, but then you say you don't use Black Point compensation etc. Do you mean when you send the job to print? Or when you convert it from one space to another? Generally, when I print using Posterjet, I drop the files into the hotfolder or straight into the main or nest queue and print from there. The files have an embedded profile which is automatically read in PosterJet, or you can choose one from the options. Then of course you set your rendering intent and you should pretty much be fine. I use Posterjet for all my printing. Generally because it's fast, accurate and easy to use. Amongst other things, I do a lot of printing, canvas, photo, solvent etc. Well, many of the medias are lovely to use, especially the new Canvas medias and the Hahnemulle PhotoRAG medias. The Litho media is also very good to use, so is the Super Heavyweight Coated media. Lovely to print graphics and laminate. Wicked gamut. To be honest, I don't like the Studio Canvas. I've printed some prints on this media in the past, but wasn't too happy. I think the glossy coating on that media is too much. Looks like sugar on top of the canvas. The new Satin Canvas, on the other hand, is better. Or if you want, you can also print on the matte canvas and spray it with a satin or glossy coating. This you'd definitely have to do on canvas prints done on the 130. This for longevity. For color accuracy, I use the internal prints of the printer. For profiling, if I need to do any (that's what you're asking), I use the iOne Match software from GretagMacbeth. I hope this helps. Hi Teddy. My prints are consistanly off related to certain media. Aquaella is off a little. I wondered if it was the lower White rating that causes this? Its been nice not having to make profiles because of posterjet it just seems that the degree of red and green can be off by as much as 15% when printing with this paper. My hannemule photo media is a little off as well. Teddy what are you using posterjet for? what kind of work do you do? Any personal favorite media? Also, what kind of Color program do you use for color accuracy? Im currenly using Monaco EZ color by X-rite. I print using relative colormetric. And Save all my graphic poster files using Adobe 1998. I dont use Black point compensation or Dithering. Currently printing on my Designjet 5500UV and Designjet 130nr Have you printed with the Studio Canvas from HP? It's just so simple to use and very powerful. But I would like to understand more what you mean by when you use the PosterJet profiles, the colors are sometimes off. I've never had this and none of my customers have had this issue. Do you see the problem with the same picture? That you print it once and it's ok and another time it's not? > > Regarding opinions, I can only give positive ones. > > Regards > Teddy > > > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Justin <jdhagginco@ ...> > To: HPDesignJet_ Printers@ yahoogroups. com > Sent: Saturday, May 19, 2007 5:29:13 AM > Subject: [HPDesignJet_ Printers] Opinions about PosterJet?? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I own posterjet Small Business Version 7.5 and to be honest have never > > even printed without it. > > I cant even tell you what its like to use the stock drivers. > > > > I am writing because from time to time when I use Posterjets profiles > > they seem in my opinion to be off in color when using the HP Media. > > > > Any one share this experience? > > > > Any one have opinions about Posterjet? > > > > Questions youd like to ask me about it are welcome. > > > > It truely is an amazingly fast peice of RIP software in terms of speed. > > > > All comments are welcome > > > > Best Regards, > > > > Justin S > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > <!-- > > #ygrp-mlmsg {font-size:13px; font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} > #ygrp-mlmsg table {font-size:inherit; font:100% ;} > #ygrp-mlmsg select, input, textarea {font:99% arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;} > #ygrp-mlmsg pre, code {font:115% monospace;} > #ygrp-mlmsg * {line-height: 1.22em;} > #ygrp-text{ > font-family: Georgia; > } > #ygrp-text p{ > margin:0 0 1em 0;} > #ygrp-tpmsgs{ > font-family: Arial; > clear:both;} > #ygrp-vitnav{ > padding-top: 10px;font- family:Verdana; font-size: 77%;margin: 0;} > #ygrp-vitnav a{ > padding:0 1px;} > #ygrp-actbar{ > clear:both;margin: 25px 0;white-space: nowrap;color: #666;text- align:right; } > #ygrp-actbar .left{ > float:left;white- space:nowrap; } > .bld{font-weight: bold;} > #ygrp-grft{ > font-family: Verdana;font- size:77%; padding:15px 0;} > #ygrp-ft{ > font-family: verdana;font- size:77%; border-top: 1px solid #666; > padding:5px 0; > } > #ygrp-mlmsg #logo{ > padding-bottom: 10px;} > > #ygrp-vital{ > background-color: #e0ecee;margin- bottom:20px; padding:2px 0 8px 8px;} > #ygrp-vital #vithd{ > font-size:77% ;font-family: Verdana;font- weight:bold; color:#333; text- transform:uppercase ;} > #ygrp-vital ul{ > padding:0;margin: 2px 0;} > #ygrp-vital ul li{ > list-style-type: none;clear: both;border: 1px solid #e0ecee; > } > #ygrp-vital ul li .ct{ > font-weight: bold;color: #ff7900;float: right;width: 2em;text- align:right; padding-right: .5em;} > #ygrp-vital ul li .cat{ > font-weight: bold;} > #ygrp-vital a { > text-decoration: none;} > > #ygrp-vital a:hover{ > text-decoration: underline; } > > #ygrp-sponsor #hd{ > color:#999;font- size:77%; } > #ygrp-sponsor #ov{ > padding:6px 13px;background- color:#e0ecee; margin-bottom: 20px;} > #ygrp-sponsor #ov ul{ > padding:0 0 0 8px;margin:0; } > #ygrp-sponsor #ov li{ > list-style-type: square;padding: 6px 0;font-size: 77%;} > #ygrp-sponsor #ov li a{ > text-decoration: none;font- size:130% ;} > #ygrp-sponsor #nc { > background-color: #eee;margin- bottom:20px; padding:0 8px;} > #ygrp-sponsor .ad{ > padding:8px 0;} > #ygrp-sponsor .ad #hd1{ > font-family: Arial;font- weight:bold; color:#628c2a; font- size:100%;line- height:122% ;} > #ygrp-sponsor .ad a{ > text-decoration: none;} > #ygrp-sponsor .ad a:hover{ > text-decoration: underline; } > #ygrp-sponsor .ad p{ > margin:0;} > o {font-size:0; } > .MsoNormal { > margin:0 0 0 0;} > #ygrp-text tt{ > font-size:120% ;} > blockquote{margin: 0 0 0 4px;} > .replbq {margin:4;} > --> > > > > > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _________ _ ____________ ___ > It's here!
