I am going to surrender any ounce of pride I might have here.
I really need help getting more color accurate prints.
I print Using a Designjet 5500 UV
I have calibrated my monitor
(viewsonic g22f Graphics Series 21")
using Gretagmacbeth ColorMeter.
If one of you were to print a Graphic poster print using
Posterjet and Adobe CS2
what settings should I use to get the prints to look like the
monitor?
I know an explanation might be long But I would Worship whom ever
would give me the help I badly need.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
here is how I typcially save an image on Adobe....
AdobeCS2>Edit>ColorSettings>
Settings:Custom
Working Spaces
RGB: Adobe RGB 1998
CMYK: U.S. Web coated (SWOP) v2
GRAY: Dot Grain 20%
Spot: Dot Grain 20%
Color Management Policies
RGB: Preserve embedded Profiles
CMYK: Preserve embedded Profiles
GRAY: Preserve embedded Profiles
Conversion Options
Engine: Adobe (ACE)
Intent: Relative Colormetric
Unchecked:Use Black Point Compensation
Unchecked:Use Dither (8-bit/channel images)
Advanced Controls
Unchecked: Desaturate Monitor colors by _%
Unchecked: Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma: 1.00
and that is it. Nothing more
------------------------------
When I go to print it out
using POSTERJET 7.5 I go As follows:
Printer Tab
Criteria
Media: Super Heavy Weight Coated Paper
(this is the media Im using)
Resolution: High
Print Quality: Max Quality
Colour Tab
Control
Colour Correction: Colour Managed
Color Mode: Colour
Input Profiles:
RGB: Adobe RGB 1998
Embedded: Adobe RGB 1998
Output Profiles:
Profile: Rip Selected Profile
Rendering Intent: Relative ColorMetric
>From here I proceed to print.
My print will usually be off by 15-20%
Am I doing something wrong?
Only thing I thought to blame it on was my monitor itself.
When I Calibrated using Gretagmacbeth I was only able to obtain 94%
Brightness and my Red Green Blue color settings were close but not
ideal. I used the advanced settings.
Any one who has used Gretagmacbeths Color meter probably knows what
im talking about.
What am I doing Wrong?
Whats your best guess?
Please help. Thank you in advance and
Best regards,
Justin
