Hi Guys!
Thanks for your help fixing the System maintenance
file HP Designjet 130.plist.
I changed line 35 like you suggested and the System
Maintenance Utility now works a little better - I can
access the lower radio button labelled "Launch
Utility".....
BUT - now its turned up another problem!!
When I select the designjet 130 from the list and
press the "Launch Utility" radio button the System
Maintenance Utility runs..... but....
I get an error message:
"The HP Designjet 30/130 series system maintenance
utility has exited because it is unable to communicate
with the printer.
Please check the connections to the printer, check
that the printer is turned on and not printing, then
launch HP Designjet 30/130 series system maintenance
utility again."
I know the printer IS connected via the USB cable OK -
because I can still print files.
I have tried Apples Printer Setup Utility, using it to
reset the printing system, set the 130 as the default
printer, (The utility and the Configure Printer
options from here also wont work (generating the same
error message as above)
The HP Printer Selector tells me : Available:YES, and
"This printer is set up for printing in Printer Setup
Utility"
So where am I going wrong?
I suppose I must retain my sense of the absurd here -
At least the "system maintenance utility is exited
because it is unable to communicate with the printer."
I'm darned if I am!!
