Not sure I agree with the previous poster that using the Black and White option in the driver is the way to go. Also unless you know how the printer driver works, you can't even be sure that the B&W option is not using even small quantities of CMY inks.
I'm not the expert on B&W by any means, but the following thoughts occur: - 3rd party inksets are available for some printers that replace some or all of the colour cartridges with various greys. Not sure if anyone makes these for the 130. - allowing use of all 7 inks will give you more greys (= less banding, more smoothness), but at the expense of some slight colour cast. Close attention to colour profiling will probably help to control this problem to some extent. You might also decide that certain colour casts, e.g. "warm" or "cool" are OK. - you might find that a RIP gives you more control over B&W printing than the HP driver. HP claim that their preferred RIP will produce perfectly neutral B&W prints, but I haven't tried it. Info at: http://h30267.www3.hp.com/country/uk/en/designjet/partners/colorbyte.html - I think if you intend to do serious B&W work on the 130, you will need to spend a lot of time getting it just right. I think some other posters in this group tried, and gave up, you could search older posts for more info.
