I'm installing a DSJ 1055 today to replace a DSJ 110+...purchased from govt auction, I cleaned and lubed it and replaced the belt and it runs and looks brand new. $1200 plus $200 labor and they are much better off. When I showed him the machine working at the shop he was thrilled.

I agree with Russ. I also repair the range of HP designjet printers here in Australia and from what I've experienced so far with the DJ100 series is I don't recommend them. I've just removed a troublesome DJ100 from one customer and converted a DJ 430 (mono) to a DJ450C and the customer is very happy - and he said it's quicker than the DJ100. The D (A1) sized 450 fits in the same spot on the desk top as the 100, it has roll feed takes up less room and makes less noise and much easier to repair. David I repair the entire line of HP plotters - I wouldnt recommend any of the "entry level" or "ultra low end" models from DSJ 30 to 130 for anyone. Yes I'll catch a lot of flack for this but one day that sweet working overstretched business inkjet printer turned plotter will screw up and be a major PITA for you or a service tech to deal with. You'd be better finding a good reconditioned 430 or 450C for under a grand than getting a newer economy model. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Tocpe Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2007 2:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [HPDesignJet_Printers] Anyone own a DesignJet 70 (Q6655A)? We're looking at purchasing a DesignJet 70 for printing CAD drawings. We're having a tough time locating any reviews of this model other than two really negative ones at cNet. Anyone in the group own one of these? What's your experience been with it?
