I gather you already have the HPGL/2 card? That's necessary in order to have a slot to upgrade with. Also, there are only a few rare cases where upgrading the ram is a needed solution. There is a far easier and cheaper way to speed up this printers processing capability by resetting the driver to handle processing the files on the your computer vs the printer doing it. That is actually the case on almost every HP plotter, short of a 5000/5500 or z6100ps, coin toss on a T1100. Go to your properties and reset it before investing in $600 of card and memory.
