> thnx > The internal calibration is there to "correct" the preexisting media profiles to better fit your particular setup: PH status, humidity, production batch, age and type of paper, and you can tweak the profiles to better fit none-HP or none supported media, within certain limits of the original "mother" profile of course. As for the frequency, the printhead status (number and position of clogged/remapped nozzles etc) plays an important role in this, since the small Designjets don't have a drop detector, this process is neccessary to ensure consistant printout over time. ICC profiles on the other hand are there to ensure consistant colours in your colour workflow, in other words, to bring the printout in line with what you see on the monitor.
