HP and I agree, tough to see a difference without a microscope/strong loupe on rc papers. And again, that's why they gray out Max Detail for the matte papers. I do print on a DJ90, and have long ago quit using Max for any printing, since to my eyes doesn't make a significant difference at normal viewing distances.
In any event, trying to fool the system with an incorrect profile and wrong paper choice is generally an exercise in futility. You may be able to tweak the settings and bring some colors in, but others will be out. However, I've learned there is still a lot of "art" in this science (I'm a digital imaging consultant with professional color management equipment and software), so if it pleases you more power.
