I've been battling a problem with my DJ 130 regarding what looks like the ink feed on a color (yellow) starving.
I typically plot 24x36 print of contour maps. Over the last few months I've seen the plots start out fine but then the yellow just fades away to almost nothing. I've worked with HP tech support (paid) and they've had me run multiple tests. I've replace the print head (twice!). The ink shows almost full. Yesterday I ran a test with a 8-1/2x11 page I'de done in Paint with squares for the 6 colors plus gray. It printed fine (colors all look good, solid, no streaks, etc.) after replacing the yellow print head. "Got it!" I thought. Plotted a contour map, and the same fading happened! Reran the Paint test and the yellow was faded and had obvious striping. HP head allignment and print tests pass. I've upgraded the firmware and driver (Win XP). It seem like a small print job is okay but as the size gets bigger and more yellow is consumed (after the printer has sat awhile) the yellow starts fading. If I wait awhile then start printing it'll be okay then fade again. It never disappears but it gets much lighter. Anyone experienice thisi? Any ideas?
