Interesting.  That gives me extra datapoints.  I won't be able to hunt down
that bug until after the OSDL Printing Summit, however.  It is not
completely impossible that it is a Debian bug (i.e. not present on upstream
hplip).

My config is:

Debian unstable, 32-bit ia32
PSC-2610, directly connected via USB to an ICH5R (Intel D875PBZ
motherboard).
