Based on the syslog "Dot4InitReply" failure, hpiod cannot bring the USB 1284.4 transport up. But this does not make sense since the customer was able to bring up the hp-toolbox. The hp-toolbox uses 1284.4 for laserjet status/supplies.
I don't have a CLJ2550, but the CLJ2840 uses the same platform and the CLJ2840 works OK with FC5.
