I apologize - it was all false alarm!

I tested again today and now it works perfectly both with
CUPS 1.1 and CUPS 1.2 when there is a '/' character inside
of a translation string.

Please ignore my report completely.

I don't know what went wrong yesterday at my test machines
but today it works perfectly!
Perhaps some obscure side-effect which happened because of
too much to and fro changes and tests.

Sorry for causing trouble.
