I built HPLIP 1.7.4a as usual (i.e. like the versions before) and right now I detected that at least the man pages failed to build. My RPM contains only /usr/share/doc/packages/hplip/tech_docs/man_pages/index.html and when I show it in a browser I get this output: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Technical Documentation: Man Pages hplip-install : ;06mwarning: Config file /etc/hp/hplip.conf not found or not readable.m Installer for HPLIP tarball. hp-setup : ;06mwarning: Config file /etc/hp/hplip.conf not found or not readable.m Installs HPLIP printers and faxes in the CUPS spooler. Page last updated: Thu Apr 26 09:33:33 2007; HPLIP Version: 1.7.4a ---------------------------------------------------------------- On the first glance I don't see errors regarding hplip.conf in the logfile of my build but perhaps this is the reason: Our build-system runs in a chroot environment and builds the packages as non-root. Therefore it installs the files under a sepearated directory like var/tmp/hplip-1.7.4a-build and I have in my hplip.spec ---------------------------------------------------------------- %install make install DESTDIR=%{buildroot} ---------------------------------------------------------------- which results that hplip.conf is created as var/tmp/hplip-1.7.4a-build/usr/share/hplip/hplip.conf and then installed as var/tmp/hplip-1.7.4a-build/etc/hp/hplip.conf If you like to have a look at my current packages, see http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/jsmeix/ Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5, 90409 Nuernberg, Germany AG Nuernberg, HRB 16746, GF: Markus Rex ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
