As I already posted when forum was active:
I have a problem with this printer shared on a Windows XP machine. Windows
machines on the network don't have problems with printing, but Linux boxes
can't. The file to print reaches Windows machine is put and showed in queue
but it never gets printed. It seems that Linux driver does everything good
but never sends the command to print.
I've tried with RedHat9.0, Fedora 4, Ubuntu, but the result is the same with
all of them. The printer makes the usual noise as if it's loading the paper
but it doesn't and stops with the job in the spooler. I use hpijs-2.1.4.
I use cups and SMB printer configuration and it works great with Epson
LQ-2080 and Epson Stylus Color 600.
Aftre a few days I obtained something disabling bi-directional support in
Windows XP, the system prints, but the paper is not released (as if the
print process isn't over), my linux system sends again and again the
document populating the windows spooler with many copies of the same file
but printer is locked and blinking.
Lately I've found documents of people with unix systems with the same
problem. Here are some:

Is there any developer that could solve the question?
Thanks a lot for your time and work.
Max
