[Hplip-help] a Newbie needs help with HPLIP hplip-0.9.11

Hello everyone !
I'm new to linux, new to HPLIP and new to the list.
The device i have at hand is HP OfficeJet 6213, and i need to use its Scanner.
Yesterday i'v installed HPLIP - twice :-) the first attempt was not according to the instructions, but the second was.
After a lot of twiking, i got it to work, and did some scanning. that was yesterday.

Today i tried again, and no scanner was detected (and its connected, i'm sure)
I'm using FC5.
P.S Being a newbie, i dont know how to use the diff file to upgrade my HPLIP. help on that would be nice too.
