Eliran,
From what it sounds like you may have a conflict in HPLIP. You may
need to remove everything referring to HPLIP and install using the steps
on the website.
There may be several ways to remove HPLIP. You can go into the dir that
came from the tar bal, ie (~/Desktop/HPLIP-0.9.11/, etc.) and enter (as
root) "make uninstall".
Then remove the first install of hplip, you can run "updatedb" and then
"locate hplip" which will show you where the hplip files where installed
to..and you'll want to review the Fedora docs for how to correctly
remove the directories.
There may be other ways to do this, the idea is to remove all version of
HPLIP, start with a clean system, and reinstall so there is no conflicts.
Hope this helps!

Hello everyone !
I'm new to linux, new to HPLIP and new to the list.
The device i have at hand is HP OfficeJet 6213, and i need to use its
Scanner.
Yesterday i'v installed HPLIP - twice :-) the first attempt was not
according to the instructions, but the second was.
After a lot of twiking, i got it to work, and did some scanning. that
was yesterday.
Today i tried again, and no scanner was detected (and its connected, i'm
sure)
I'm using FC5.
P.S Being a newbie, i dont know how to use the diff file to upgrade my
HPLIP. help on that would be nice too.
Thanks in advance,
Eliran.
Here is some output, and i need help getting it to work again.
