I have removed and reinstalled the printers but the problem exists.

here is the output of lpstat -v

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ lpstat -v
device for deskjet_6127: hp:/net/deskjet_6127?ip=10.0.0.38
device for hp_color_LaserJet_3700:
hp:/net/hp_color_LaserJet_3700?ip=10.0.0.48
device for hp_color_LaserJet_3700_10.0.0.48: ipp://10.0.0.48:631/ipp
device for HP_DeskJet_6127_10.0.0.38: socket://10.0.0.38
device for HP_LaseJet_2200: hp:/net/HP_LaserJet_2200_Series?ip=10.0.0.31
device for HP_LaserJet_2200_10.0.0.31: ipp://10.0.0.31:631/ipp
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$

and as i mentioned in an earlier post i can ping, telnet, web-browse the
printers. i can also print to them when they are installed as cups (ipp)
printers. The problem is when using the hp uri to print.
