Marcin, We don't specificly support a Ubuntu server install setup. Although it's very possible, you'll need to make sure you have all of the correct dependencies installed.
(I think I may have replied to you this weekend, but I wanted to reply again just to be sure.) Check the system requirements page on our website. If gs is failing you may need to ensure gs is installed/setup correctly. Also try checking the /var/log/messages for any error messages.
