Hello,
I use HPLIP (1.6.6a) on a
Linux server with an "all-in-one" (HP PSC 2210) attached to it. The server has
no X-server running, but serves several Windows XP clients in a network.
I installed the HP
machine as a normal printer and as a separate fax printer in CUPS. Printing and
scanning from the XP clients works fine.
QUESTION: is it possbile to
use this Linux server with HPLIP as a fax server for the XP
clients?
So far i haven't been able
to use the fax. It is not possible to get "sendfax" running on the server. I get
the messge: "Sorry, -n
not implemented yet."
Probably this is caused by
the fact that X is not running on the server. I cannot use "toolbox"
either.
I tried to install
"hylafax" but that didn't work. Hylafax needs a tty port and the HP
doesn't use that. Besides, I suppose using both Hylafax and HPLIP
should not be nessecary, or am I wrong here?
Or, as an alternative way
of thinking, maybe it is possible to fullfil my needs by installing on the XP
clients a proper driver voor the HPLIP/CUPS fax printer?
If so, which one should
that be?
Thank you!
Marcel
