Let me be very clear here (I hope). I have HPLIP 1.6.6a installed and running,
CUPs 1.2.1 installed and running, the HP DeskJet 5740 has been configured using
 the hp-setup program and prints.

When I run GIMP and try to print an image. I select the HP 5740 printer, then
the "setup" button.

There is NO "adobe" option (as I wrote originally). I then select
Postscript Level 2. Then whether I set a ppd file OR NOT the result
is the same - I get ASCII output - NO IMAGE printed.

I can output to a postscript file and then print the postscript file.

But I think it should be possible to print directly from GIMP. It was possible
to accomplish that under Fedora Core 4. It should be possible to accomplish that
under Fedora Core 5.

Thank you for your help.

Terry
