as time goes by, I become more and more confused. Since hours I try to set up my HP Photosmart 2575 for scanning under SuSE Linux 10.1 (OpenSuSE). Setting up the printer with YAST was very straight and the printer works fine. My distribution provides me with hplip version 0.9.7.
What I am absolutely missing is a HOWTO for setting up the scanner. I configured the dll.conf file and made sure that net and hpais was available and not deactivated. When starting scanimage -L I get the information that no scanner is found. I absolutely don't know what has to be done to access the scanner over the network. Maybe this is absolutely simple, but without any information about how, I can't set up the scanner.
Could anybody please send me a link or something where to find a description about using a remote scanner over a network?
