Hello,
I downloaded and installed the current HPLIP package 1.6.7.
./configure && make && make install worked without problems, I stopped
cups, started hplip and started cups.
Now, when I want to setup my HP printer I se the following in Cups' list
of devices: hp no_device_found
Consequently, I can't print.
I see nothing obvious I did wrong or forgot to do, the server this is
running on was even restarted (due to different reasons) and I could
verify that HPLIP and Cups start fine.
When HPLIP is started it complains that hpssd fails, though. I assume
hpssd is for scanners, so I'm not too worried becuase I don't have one...
The system is a SuSE 9.2, kernel 2.6.8-24.24-default box.
Cups and -devel 1.1.21, python 2.3.4, ghostscript 7.07 system.
the printer seems to be correctly conected and is even recognizd by the
backend:

Any hints?
Thanks for your support,
