For a PostScript device you don't need a special driver. Let the application produce PostScript and send it directly to the device (i.e. print in "raw" mode). If you need to activate special device features, get the PPD file for the device and set up a print queue with CUPS with this PPD. For PostScript devices, PPD files are already available, as all manufacturers enclose suitable PPD files with the device. However, printer manufacturers often provide the PPD files in an awkward format for other operating systems (e.g., self-extracting EXE archives) - in case of problems, please ask the manufacturer for a suitable PPD file. Have a look at http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Printer_Configuration_from_SuSE_Linux_8.1_on Suse Linux 8.1 is quite old. I reccommend to prefer "lpadmin" instead of YaST to set up the queue, see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:CUPS_in_a_Nutshell and for details see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Information_for_Printer_Manufacturers_Regarding_Linux_Support Kind Regards Johannes Meixner -- SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstrasse 5 Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] 90409 Nuernberg, Germany WWW: http://www.suse.de/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
