Hi,

I hope you can help. I've recently installed a C3100-series HP printer
(3180) and, whilst I can print normally, I find that I have to restart HPLIP
(/etc/init.d/hplip restart) for every session in order to use the scan
function through XSane. Once restarted, the scan function works well, until
I log out or restart the OS, at which point I'm forced to run the hplip
restart command again to get the scan function working again.

Is this a known issue, and is there a work-around? Getting HPLIP to restart
automatically on boot, or making sure it stays functional even after a
system reboot?

I'm running HPLIP 1.6.10 on Ubuntu 6.06.

Many thanks,
Peter
