Hello,

I have the printer HP C6180 to install on my home. This printer
communicate with wireless with my two computers. The two computers
running with the last Slackware. The first has the 2.6.18 kernel and I
don't have problems for printing and scanning. It's a laptop with
wireless.

With the other, the desktop with the 2.6.16.16 kernel, I don't have
problems for driver installation. But the software hp-setup does not
find the printer on the network. I installed the last kernel (
2.6.19.2) but this does not resolve my problem.

After the network scanning, a box appears: 'don't find printer on
network' (or a similar message). That does not function either with a
manual research (IP or name).

I installed these drivers from Linuxpackages.net:
hplip-1.6.10-i486-1kjz.tgz and cups-1.1.23-i486-4.tgz from
Slackware-current.

What's the problem?

Thanks for your help
