OK, below is the output from hp-check (or, actually, from check.py, since 
hp-check doesn't seem to get built as an executable from the tarball I 
downloaded, nor is it included in debian's distribution). Thanks in 
advance for your help. It does report problems with lsb_release, 
reportlab, ppdev, libnetsnmp-devel, and lsb. I will install these and see 
if that helps.
