*My printer works fine, but sane can't find my scanner.
I've opened up ports 2207 2208 (which I presume are for the
scanner) and 9100 9101 9102 which I had to use to finally get my
    HP printer working.
I've worked on this problem for 2 weeks now to no avail (although
I can scan over http://192.168.1.105 where the HP interface opens
up) I just can't get the scanner to be recognized under sane or
    xsane.*

Apparently there is a server built into the printer that comes up when I simply type in http://192.168.1.105 in Firefox. I was only able to get printing working after opening (3) ports (9100,9101,9102) at that address and according to the readout of hp-check hplip is not running. I don't know either, but somehow I am able to print without hplip.
I have some more information if you would like it.
Am I sending this correctly ? I'm just hitting reply in Thunderbird.
