You should be okay with installing the latest version now and still
upgrading later. However there can be problems that happen when doing the
upgrade from ubuntu 6.06 to 7.04, sometimes (most of the time) it works
great, sometimes it doesn't. You may need to re-install HPLIP after the
upgrade.
