Hi Shirley,
You can install multiple print queues for the same printer, then
you can set the options differently for each printer and then you
choose the right printer queue to print to for different types of jobs.
For example, you create a queue, let us say, PSC_1315_Gray and set the
options for Grayscale, Black Pen for this queue and whenever you wish to
print in black/gray only, you print to this queue. Then you create
another queue,
PSC_1315_Photo, that has 600dpi, Black+Color Cartridge, Photo Media and
whenever
you wish to print with photo quality, you send your job to
PSC_1315_Photo
and so on.
Some apps allow you to set per job options. Take a look at Hp Device
Manager
for options you can set from there.
Hope this helps.
Raghu

Muaks! That's a big fat kiss from me ;-)

I needed to set the "Resolution, Quality, Ink Type, Media Type" option.

The option was:

    Controlled by 'Printout Mode'

Now it is:

300 dpi, Color, Black + Color Cartr.

which resulted in a beautifully printed test page.

It seems like it would be better to configure somehow a default Printout
Mode, so that it can be changed for an individual print job. Is this so?

Thank you sincerely,
srwitten
