It just looks through your CUPS queues making sure that all HP printers are
installed using the hp: backend so that they will work within HPLIP. Other
backends like parallel: or usb: will still allow you to print, but other
features like checking ink levels will not work.

In your log file, the warning is not meaningful as its reporting on a PDF
printer.
