Hi Jim & Ken,

As a new contributor, I understand it is allowed to submit episodes recorded however the host wishes. However, it would also be good to understand how best to submit the audio to give the post processing step the best chance to deliver a quality audio. For my introduction episode, I was not at home, but in a hotel room in Spain and used my Bose headset to record my content, feeding into Audacity (on Linux). I used the Audacity settings shown in the HPR help page, but also enabled the inline compression module. Was this a good or a bad idea? Is it better to record the exact audio, then leave the refining to the post processing stage?

I am not an audiophile, but would love to learn more, as I suspect this is also useful knowledge for amateur radio, and my music making.

For my next episode I will be at home, where I have a much better microphone, but I am very happy to be advised how best to set up Audacity to do the recording.

Best regards,
Paul
