Ivan,

Welcome on board!

Cc'ing to hpx-users for others to chime in.

We have plenty of work to be done for adapting the existing parallel
algorithms to a range based interface (see
https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/issues/1668 for which algorithms still
need work). This does not require any experience in parallel computing,
however you'll need to be able to work with C++, templates, and some meta
programming.

For the parallel algorithms itself, please see here to see which algorithms
still need implementing: https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/issues/1141.

I can't say anything related to your chances as this depends entirely on the
quality of your proposal you have to submit through the GSoC site. Note also
that the deadline for this is March 25th 1900UTC. We have a template for
proposals here:
https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/wiki/GSoC-Submission-Template and some
hint for how to write a good proposal here:
https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/wiki/Hints-for-Successful-Proposals.

Please get in contact with us on IRC (#ste||ar at freenode) to discuss your
ideas.

HTH
