I'm happy to read this, your prior knowledge fits this project idea
really well. The next step will be for you to create a good
application. Good means that your application should convey that you
have thoroughly understood the project itself, that you have a plan on
how to implement it and what's motivating you.

I assume that you've read the project idea, so my question would now
be if you have any questions on LibGeoDecomp and if you have already
thought about a basic outline (milestones, deliverables).

A brief primer on LibGeoDecomp WRT this project: LibGeoDecomp
implements a boxing scheme via a helper class BoxCell. Each BoxCell
represents a cuboid volume of space. BoxCells are seamlessly arranged
in a regular grid. These BoxCells can contain particles (movable/fixed
bodies). Each BoxCell will update all contained particles once per
time step. particles may interact only with particles in the same or
neighboring BoxCells.

This way you can implement a force-based simulation model. One part of
this project is to implement different types of simulation entities
(e.g. spheres, tetrahedrons) and their interactions (e.g. a linear
dashpot for impacts).

Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this project idea or
LibGeoDecomp in general.

Cheers
-Andreas
