There is no explanation of the server.urlid.X setting in the "URL Components" table,
since it is not an URL.

"server.urlid.X" is a properties setting which is common to both server.properties and webserver.properties, hence it is listed in table 4.4 "Property File Properties" in the
"Server and Web Server Properties" section.

But I'd like to point out WHY did this happen. I skipped reading the
"UNIX Quick Start" and read only "Advanced Topics" instead. If you
look in the page:

http://hsqldb.org/doc/guide/ch04.html

there is a "Table 4.1. Hsqldb URL Components" with examples from
the 'server.properties' (on the grey background).
There is no warning, nor _any_ "server.urlid.X=..." line.
Examples are not intended to work exactly as-is for all cases, nor are they
intended to exemplify all optional settings. That particular example won't
work for people who don't have an /opt directory. It also doesn't show
any of the many optional settings, including the optional server.urlid.X
settings (which would be useless for most users).
Should this example had such "server.urlid" entries, I wouldn't
bother you probably at all, because I'd assume that they are
needed (as it really is).
It really is not. The great majority of HSQLDB users do not use the UNIX init script, and they are the only ones who need it (as clearly explained in table 4.4).

If you have other UNIX-specific questions, check the UNIX chapter.
