Unfortunately, the keywords field has to be handled differently at
the moment from the regular words, so the same "cleanup" is not
performed on them. (For example, htsearch doesn't do fuzzy algorithms
on the keywords).
It's a bug. Unfortunately the keywords field has not received the
same care and attention as the main query.
In your case, you say they're automatically generated, so a
workaround for your case would be to put in some filtering into
whatever is generating the keywords to clean them up beforehand. For
one, strip out "and" and "or" which will be misinterpreted by the
boolean query parser and for another, strip out punctuation since
this will not be removed from the keywords.
