I think I dropped this suggestion into a mail some time ago but I don't
think I have ever separated it out as an explicit request:

I would really appreciate an option on htdig to drop an occasional
timestamp into its output. I have, for instance, now (12:30 local) got an
index run in progress that would normally have finished at about 06:00 and
it would be nice to look at the output from htdig and see when it slowed
down.

I'm not sure whether this should be a config file matter or a command line
option or both. A simple integer (minutes between timestamps) would keep
me happy. Default zero would not log anything of course, I would probably
set it to 5 or 10 as a matter of routine.
