Well, this is a bit of a stumper. If the DB files are small, and aren't
truncated due to lack of disk space, then it must be a problem with
the build of the DB code on your system. Make sure you followed the
suggestions in
http://www.htdig.org/files/contrib/guides/Installing_on_Win32.html
especially about installing the right .dll files in the right spots.
Which version of htdig are you trying? I believe 3.1.5 has been tested
a fair bit under Cygwin (though I don't know if there are different
versions of Cygwin that give varying results), but I don't think the
3.2.0b? betas have gotten much of a workout on Cygwin.
