Apparently not, given the lack of response. We've had a number of
sporadic problems reported by people trying to get htdig running
on Cygwin. Many users have reported success, while others complained
about certain database errors or segmentation faults. Unfortunately,
we never seem to get anything consistent enough to track down and fix.
Segmentation faults are particularly problematic, as there doesn't seem
to be any way of getting a usable stack backtrace that would pinpoint
where the program is failing. If you have a debugger, like gdb, under
Cygwin, maybe you could try running htdig from the debugger and then
get a backtrace when it fails.

The other thing that would be worth trying is different versions
of the Cygwin toolkit, either older or newer versions, if available.
We've gotten many more problem reports lately than before, but we don't
know if this is because there are problems in recent versions or because
there are just that many more users trying it out now.
