Well, hey, don't knock it if it works.  This was the system that gave
you a successful compilation after all.

Anyway, you did say that...

but it would be interesting to know if 3.0.2 works better.  Also, if it's
a problem with configure rather than the compiler, the 3.2.0b4 snapshot
may give different results.
