Thanks Gilles,
Our db.worddump after htdump looks okay as far as I can tell, eg: (extract)
#word document id flags location anchor
<...>
mentoring 124 8 4 0
mentoring 124 64 0 0
mentoring 124 64 15 0
mentoring 260 0 703 0
<...>
ie: the flags column always seems to be just a number 0-128
Platform is Solaris 2.8 on a Sun Ultra 10, compiler gcc-2.95.3, and all
the latest gcc C libs, etc (and htdig 3.2.0b3). And htdig only
available on our Intranet at the moment.
BTW, what we get in our results is that pages with the word "mentoring"
mentioned several (eg: 8 to 12) times (in the text body only) get a 4-star
rating whereas other pages with the word mentioned (say) 3 times _but_ with
the word now also in the <TITLE> are only rating 2 or 3 stars. The latter are
the pages that we'd have expected to see with the 4-star results. But even
though I've glanced at the doco, I plead relative ignorance (half a star?) re
the ranking logic.
Okay on 3.2.0b4, will have a go at that shortly and check the effect.
As an aside: tried to run htdig on this UltraSparc with 128Mb of RAM and
ran it out of swap ... not a happy little server at all. So bumped
it up to 512Mb and all happy now :-)
