In attempting to index a Cold Fusion generated site I have run into the
following problem:
The site is entered through a basic user name and password login form (in
Cold Fusion), which then sets a server session variable to true, subsequent
pages ask for the session variable and, if it is false, sends the user back
to the login page. I re-coded the login page temporarily to set the
variable to true and automatically send me to the next page. But when it
attempts to get to the next level after that, I get sent back to the login
page. Htdig appears not to be able to maintain the session variable from
page to page. As far as I know, the session variable is held on the
server, the setup works fine through the browser, but htdig is getting sent
back to the login page. Does this make any sense?
The question is, can Htdig keep server session variables alive throughout
the indexing? I tried using the authorization config but it only works on
http pop up user name and pasword boxes (I think). Any ideas?
