Interesting problem.  All htdig handles for username/password is HTTP
basic authorization, so other schemes won't work.  Where is this
session "variable" maintained?  On the server, in the client's cookies,
or in the URL?  If it's in the URL, there may be a trick you can use
with the new url_rewrite_rules attribute in 3.1.6 or 3.2.0b4 snapshots
to manipulate the URLs as you want.  If the variable is anywhere else,
you're probably out of luck.
