Is it possible to share the same databases between Linux running on Intel hardware and Solaris running on Sparc hardware?
My attempts so far indicate that if it's possible, some special voodoo must be required. I get search results back from htsearch running on Linux against a database created under Solaris-- they're just not the right results. The titles of pages in the search result doesn't get displayed either. I hope it's possible. If not,then is it safe to do the digging just once (maybe with the -t) flag and then run htmerge on both sparc and linux? Will that give me two valid sets of the databases- one for each platform?
