Hi - If you are using a file for your search results template (see http://www.htdig.org/attrs.html#template_map), you can add the $(CURRENT) variable to your template file wherever you want the number of the current match to appear. Assuming a default install, the easiest way to get started is to uncomment the template_map line in htdig.conf and add the CURRENT variable where needed in common/long.html and common/short.html.
