For example, in addition to documents that have been indexed, ht://Dig keeps "stubs" for document URLs that it has discovered but not indexed yet. Since text of links pointing towards documents is included as search terms, these can come up in results. If you're using 3.1.x these "stubs" are removed by htmerge.
