I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. Indexing will start with
documents linked from the start_url attribute in your configuration file.

My guess is that you have installed a binary release of ht://Dig that does
not match your OS or OS version. If you are using Linux, most Linux
distributions either have htdig packages or you can get appropriate ones
from their website. But you must make sure that the package matches your
distribution and version. (i.e. a SuSE RPM will rarely work on a Debian
system or a RedHat system).
