Thanks Geoff. The RedHat change logs are not clear. I'll revert to the previous RedHat RPM and see if it works again. I should add that as part of the RedHat upgrade, I am also running a new subversion of Apache 1.3. However, I can still supply the authentication fine through my browser.
It is also interesting that when I add enough -v's to htdig to show the actual username and password sent, it is correct.
